Senator Marco Rubio –  Letter to President Obama in response to the presidential visit to Cuba.

This week in the office of U.S. Senator Marco Rubio:

  • Marco sent a letter to President Obama in response to the Administration’s announcement of a presidential visit to Cuba. “Your determination to visit the communist state of Cuba on March 21st and 22nd, regardless of the disastrous consequences, is a mistake,” Marco wrote. “Having an American president go to Cuba simply for the sake of going there, without the United States getting anything in return, is both counterproductive and damaging to our national security interests.” Read Marco’s letter to President Obama here.
  • The “ U.S.-Jordan Defense Cooperation Act of 2015,” a bill Marco sponsored, was signed into law. This law will support the Kingdom of Jordan in its response to the Syrian refugee crisis, enable U.S.-Jordanian cooperation to combat the terrorist threat from ISIS and other terrorist organizations and help Jordan secure its borders with Syria and Iraq. “This new law will strengthen our relationship with the Kingdom of Jordan as they face immense challenges from ISIS and the chaos in Syria,” said Marco. “I’m proud that this law will finally give Jordan the support it needs to continue the fight against ISIS.” Learn more about this legislation here.
