I post daily and believe that these outlets are a great way for you all to stay current with my day-to-day activities both in Washington D.C. and Minnesota, so be sure to follow/like me today! Additionally, my office has just launched my new and improved website so visit emmer.house.gov to learn all about the many constituent services my office offers as well as future events my office will be holding.
Speaking of Future Events…
I want to thank everyone who stopped by the town hall I held last week in Sherburne County! It was a great event where I discussed everything from national security to the work I am doing to improve relations with Cuba.
If you were not able to make it to last week’s event, then never fear! In order to remain accessible, accountable, and transparent, I will be holding a town hall in every county within my district. My next town hall will take place in Anoka County on June 30, 2016 at Andover City Hall. The town hall will begin at 6:30PM and I look forward to seeing everyone there!
The Future of Minnesota’s Agriculture Industry is Looking Bright
Minnesota’s farmers are the driving force in our economy, and this week I had the chance to hang out with a few of the leaders in our state’s agriculture industry. Last Saturday, I spent the morning grilling and chatting with Minnesota Future Farmers of America members at the Wright County Breakfast on the Farm. We had great discussions about the importance of farming in Minnesota and the work I am doing to promote this vital industry.
I also had the privilege of meeting with members of the Dassel-Cokato Chapter of Future Farmers of America when they stopped by my office on Thursday morning. It was great to meet young women with such a strong interest in agriculture, and with leaders like them, the future of Minnesota agriculture is looking bright!
This week I was visited by Esther Stoy, who recently won the Congressional Art Competition in Minnesota’s Sixth District with her watercolor painting entitled “Elisha.” Esther will be in 11th grade this fall and is a student at Delano High School.
During her visit, Esther, her family and I visited her painting in the Capitol hallway where it is displayed for passing Congressmen, staff and visitors to see for the next year. It was wonderful meeting such a talented young woman, and I’m sure we will be seeing more from her in the years to come.
Once again, thanks for staying up to date with the work I am doing for Minnesota’s Sixth District! Until next week…
